She enjoyed providingtransportation to anyone to church or around town with herstation wagon. She had thekeys to the church therefore she opened the church because shemost times she was the first one there. She attended all churchservices every time the church doors were open. Essie was also a devoted member manyof other areas and various auxiliaries. She was the firstone at church to open the doors with all her children beforeSunday School started. Essie was dedicated to serving the Lord fully.During her faithful years, Essie was President of the TrusteeBoard President of the Usher Board Vice President of theSanctuary Choir and Sunday School teacher. Essie joined New ZionMissionary Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi in 1967 whereshe remained an active and committed member for 54 years untilher transition. Essie was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and5 brothers.Essie began working for the Lord after confessing Christ as herpersonal savior at the age of 12. Williams of Canton, MSand through this union 12 children were born 5 preceded her indeath.
